EVERETT WALLACE SCHNEIDER On Saturday, April 20, 2002, Everett passed away at the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie, MB at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Pearl on December 13, 1992; and one brother Robert on August 27, 2000. Everett was born January 3, 1919 in Saskatchewan. In 1932 he moved to Langruth with his parents Ed and Magdalene; one sister Leona; and three brothers, Bob, Gerald, and Willard. He joined the army in 1942, and was a wireless and gunner operator in the tanks. He was in combat in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, returning home in 1946. Everett married Pearl Werstuik on June 4, 1949. He worked at the Big Grass Marsh Muskrat Ranch and from there in 1955 went to work at the Lakeview Community Pasture. He became good friends with Mr. and Mrs. P. OConnor and their son Raymond, who has been a loyal friend of Everetts. In 1959, Everett bought a farm in the Hollywood District. He and Pearl farmed till 1974 when they both retired to Langruth. After his wifes passing and due to his failing health he moved into the Lions Prairie Manor in August, 1999. Everett was a member of the Langruth Legion No. 162, and the Kinosota Game and Fish. Left to cherish his memory is his sister Leona Carson of Portage; her daughter Audrey (Larry Blaylock) and family Sheri, Lori; and one great-nephew Aidan; brothers, Willard of Gladstone, and Gerald (Marion) and their family, Donald (Sharon), Jason, and Christopher; Barbara (Bob Clarke) and family, Stacy and Jeffery of Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Elsie Isfeld of Portage; niece Phyllis (Bill Hanneson) and family Sean (Lauren), Alix and Jordan of Winnipeg, Lee (Billie), Camryn of Lakeland; nieces, Irene Smorang of Winnipeg, Helen Kania and family, Derrik, Sandra and Darren of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Mammie Ponuik and her family, Sharon and Ivy of British Columbia, and many cousins. Sincere thanks to doctors, nurses and staff from Lions Prairie Manor, you were his extended family. Thank you Erin Hannah for being there. Everett loved the time with you and you will always be remembered as his good friend. Thank you to neighbours and friends for all the visits and phone calls. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church, Langruth, MB. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
