REENIE DYREGROV On Wednesday, April 24, 2002, Reenie Dyregrov, wife, mother and friend peacefully passed on surrounded by family. Reenie exemplified a passion for living, reflected by limitless friendship, her willingness to give of herself and organize activities benefiting others. Reenie valued family above everything. Her direct family and all of her "adopted" children will miss her dearly. Reenies extreme generosity and her willingness to accept people in her home were valued by all who came to know her. She never missed an opportunity to laugh, whether scuba diving, spending time at her winter cottage at Mt. Agassiz, or hosting legendary dinners in her home for dozens. Above all, two activities weretreasured most, time spent with her grandchildren and every second at her cottage at Falcon Lake. She also served as friend, mentor and counsellor to many. Reenies willingness to listen, understand and share her wisdom enriched lives and helped many understand the meaning of unconditional love. More than 35 years of nursing, 15 years as President of the Mt. Agassiz Ski Club, 10 years of service to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, and three years of activity in St. Andrews Anglican Church reflect her desire to share her passion for life. Her drive never faded. During cancer treatments earlier this year, Reenie enthusiastically served as a Zone Chairperson for the Heart and Strokes annual fundraising drive. Born in Winnipeg February 9, 1941 to Fred and Sophie James, Reenie attended St. Johns High School before graduating from Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing. The memory of Reenie is cherished by loving husband and best friend Al; her children, Jodi Dodds (Rick), Gord Bolin of Burnaby, BC, Rick Bolin (Melissa) of Denver, CO and Mark Bolin; as well as her second family, Brett Dyregrov (Sabine) and Kristin; and her sisters, LeBeau Jakobson, Betty Clarke (Hal) of Beaumont, TX and Tania Schissler (Dave) of Pender Island, BC. Her grandchildren were her special love, Cole, Nicole, Morgan, Scott, Cameron, Shae-Lynn and Keaton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 27 in St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave. at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ian Mills officiating. Our family would like to thank the staff of GD6 Ward for their countless acts of kindness and their support for Reenie and her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to GD6 Ward Trust Fund (Health Sciences Centre No. 8626), the Manitoba Cancer Society or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
