Cornelia was predeceased by her parents Johannes and Johanna Hilhorst; sisters, Mary Nass and Greta Doyon; her brothers, Jan, Anthony, Joe and William. She is survived by her brother Bert and wife Emily; sisters-in-law, Mal Hilhorst and Lorette Hilhorst; brother-in-law Adrien Doyon; and several nieces and nephews. Sr. Aloysius was born in Soest, Holland, and immigrated to Canada as a young girl with her parents. She experienced a very strong call to the Religious Life, so in 1926 she, with the blessing of her parents, entered the Convent where she did her training with the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk in New York. Upon her return from New York to Bruxelles, MB, and over the years, she was engaged in several teaching assignments at Bruxelles, St. Alponse and in Winnipeg at Our Lady of Victory School. She served her religious community as Superior for several years prior to her retirement. Her retirement years were spent in her Religious home in St. Vital. In her varied educational assignments Sister Aloysius was loved and respected by her students for her sense of justice and fairness. Prayer Vigil will be held on Friday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Church, 847 St. Marys Rd., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Saturday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Father Renato Pasinato presiding. We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Kevin Coates, all of the Home and Private caregivers, the members of her Religious Order, the Grey Nuns, Dr. B. Gorski and the nursing staff and personnel in the Infirmary, all of whom provided Sr. Aloysius with loving and compassionate care throughout her illness.
