Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTINUS STEHN (STEVE) SANDST Mr. Tinus Stehn (Steve) Sandst, beloved husband of the late Ida Sandst, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the age of 77 years. Steve is survived by his daughter Deb and son-in-law Don Keber of Red Deer and his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Marg Sandst of Calgary; three granddaughters, Laura Sandst, Jordan Keber and Whitney Keber; one grandson, Michael Sandst; his dear companion Rene Fisher; one brother Tage and one sister Kirstin in Denmark and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ida in 1985 and by eight brothers and four sisters. Born in Laeso, Denmark on August 3, 1924, Steve immigrated to Manitoba in 1950. He worked at a variety of jobs including bricklayer and baker and married Ida Jorgensen on August 29, 1953 in Winnipeg. That same year, Steve went to work as a custodian for the Winnipeg School Division, where he endeared himself to students and staff alike until his retirement in 1985. Dad was an excellent dancer, enjoyed an animated game of cards, especially cribbage, and his passion for many years was golf. He loved nothing better than being out at the cottage at Sandy Hook, which "just happened" to be located on the fairway of the golf course. Memorial tributes may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
