EILIAN GRACE LARSEN May 2, 1913 - April 30, 2002 Peacefully, at her residence on Tuesday, April 30, 2002, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away. Mom leaves her daughters, Iris Burke of Winnipeg, Heather (Bill) McKenzie of Selkirk; son Orville of Winnipeg; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her son-in-law Peter Voth, who was like a son to her; and grand-daughter Jenifer, with whom she lived; Peters fiance Helen Seaman of New Jersey. She is also survived by two sisters, Mona Sweeney of Winnipeg, and Gwen (Ed) Wilcock of Gimli; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents; sister Blodwyn; husband Emil; son Calvin Emrys; daughter Cheryl Voth and son-in-law Len Burke. A few days prior to the passing of her daughter Cheryl, Mom gave me a small wooden plaque depicting a Mother holding a childs hand with each of her own. I see her now holding the hand of a small boy and a smaller girl on the other side as she catches up on all the news with Dad and everyone who went on ahead. Mom was a lady, tiny in stature, but she had a great heart and a grand soul. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and an interment of the ashes will take place at a later date in the Brookside Cemetery. LITTLE GIRL I used to sit upon your knee, As I read, you drank your tea Anytime I would cry, I knew youd be close by. As I grew you were there, I hope you know how much I care. I may be slowly growing up, But Ill always be there to fill your coffee cup. You are my grandma and will always be, A very special person to me. I may be bigger but I still can be That little girl upon your knee. Love Jennifer Those who desire may make a donation in her memory to Palliative Care Unit, c/o Selkirk General Hospital, Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of ones choice. GOD SPEED, MOM Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
