KORNELIUS NEUFELD May 6, 1916 - April 26, 2002 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a dear man, Kornelius Neufeld, from complications arising from a stroke. Kornelius was born May 6, 1916 in the Ukraine. Upon his arrival in Canada, he worked for many years as a welder, first at Western Tools, then at Fort Garry Industries. Upon his retirement, he took on a part-time security guard position at Assiniboia Downs, which allowed him to spend time around horses, his favourite animals. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife Katharina (Katia) and four children, Valerie (Phillipe) Bures of Victoria, BC, Helene (Jim) Beaton, Lily (Eugene) Ewanyshyn of Victoria, BC and Robert (Susan) Neufeld. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Dawn (Frank) Ewanyshyn, Dean Ewanyshyn, Dana (James) Beaton-Stokell, Nicki (Shannon) Penner and Craig, Tyson and Karleen Neufeld and four great-grandchildren, Noah and Avery Beaton-Stokell and Ireland and Easton Penner. He was very loved and will be sadly missed and always remembered. A private family service was held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on April 30 with interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
