JOSEF WERNER FELDSCHMID September 2, 1930 - May 2, 2002 It is with deep sadness and great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing on May 2, 2002, of our dear and beloved Werner Feldschmid at the Victoria General Hospital with us, his family, by his side. Werner was a wonderful, loving, and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He knew no limit as a provider for his family and his love for us knew no bounds. Werner will be lovingly remembered and mourned by his adoring wife Colette Feldschmid; his children, Jurgen Feldschmid (Erin) and Renee Clemis (Steven) and grandchildren, Michael and Annie Feldschmid and his expected third grandchild, baby Clemis. Werner was born in Voglod, Bavaria, Germany on September 2, 1930. He attended the Polytechnic University in Munich, graduating with a degree in civil engineering in the mid 1950s. In 1958, he travelled to take a position in Pakistan, where he met his darling wife, Colette, in Karachi. They were married in 1961 in Lahore. In 1964 Werner and Colette returned to Munich, where Werner accepted a position with a civil engineering division of Siemens. In 1967 Werner and Colette immigrated (with baby Jurgen) to Canada, first settling in Thompson, MB, where Werner worked for INCO. In 1969, Werner and Colette settled in Winnipeg were Renee was born. Werner started with No. 10 Architectural Group, then later was District Manager for UMA Spantec Ltd. After a brief retirement in 1993, Werner took a position, doing what he loved, as Project Coordinator with Architectural and Engineering Services at the University of Manitoba. The children having left the nest, Werner and Colette especially enjoyed the last few years spending time with family and friends, the highlights of which were their beloved cruises together and many enjoyable rounds of golf. We wish to thank all the nurses and doctors at Victoria General ICU, especially nurses, Jean, Cherry and Therese and Drs. Strachan, Griffin and Thorlakson for their kindness and professionalism. Funeral services for Werner will be held at the St. Bernadette Parish Centre, 820 Cottonwood Rd. in Windsor Park on Wednesday May 8 at 10:30 a.m. Interment and reception will follow at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (many thanks to Rob and staff). Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
