BERNADINE LENORA RODGERS (ELLIOT) It is with great sadness we announce the death of Bernadine Rodgers, beloved wife of the late Roy Rodgers, on May 3, 2002. Bernadine, much loved Mom and Grandma, is survived by a son and two daughters, Roydon and Sandra Rodgers, Rae and Garvin Kabernick, Ronna and Bill Henselwood; and grandchildren, Evan, Derek and Greg Rodgers, Stacey and Weldon Enns, Kelly and Christine Kabernick and Ryan, Jill and Matthew Henselwood; and two great-grandchildren, Carleigh and Kyle Enns. "Toots" is also survived by her sister Ealliene and Bob; and brother Dwayne and June. She was predeceased by her brother Lauren. Mom was born on the family farm to Tom and Anne Elliot near Silver Plains, MB, on September 29, 1912. Bernadine and Roy lived in the Domain Area all their married life until a move to Winnipeg in 1980. Mom and Dad farmed and gardened on the banks of the LaSalle River for almost 40 years. Mom was a compassionate, loving woman who spent her life caring for others. She treasured above all else her family each child and grandchild. Mom served her community with enthusiasm. She was active in the Sanford, Domain and Charleswood United Church. Bernadine was very proud to be a charter member of the Domain Womens Institute and for many years served as a 4-H leader. Moms passion was her love of gardeningparticularly her flower garden. She also enjoyed many hours of crafting, photography and preserving. We are deeply grateful to the amazing staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for the extra ordinary love and care they showed for Mom. Funeral services will be held at the Salvation Army Heritage Park Temple, 825 School Rd., with Majors Don and Daphne Maye officiating, on Thursday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Sanford Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bernadines beloved grandchildren.
