John was born to Catherine and Harry in Winnipeg on September 26, 1923. He passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at the Maples Personal Care Home. John was predeceased by his mother, father, and siblings. He leaves Elisabeth his wife, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their children. John started at the C.N.R. at the age of 18 and worked till he was 62. During his retirement he volunteered at S.O.G.H. He was the first recipient of the Lillian Olin award which was given in appreciation of his commitment and generosity of self. He was a collector of stuff, treasures to him. John fed the birds, the squirrels and whatever found its way into the backyard. He loved his animals and looked after them to his best. He did what he could for others and didnt expect anything in return. All is forgotten, all is forgiven, God loved you John and so do I. Have a safe journey, well meet again. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Fr. B. Kyba, C.Ss.R. officiating. Cremation to follow and an interment will take place at a later date. God grant his rest. "His day has come, not gone. His sun has risen, not set. His life is now beyond the reach of death or change." Not ended but begun. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
