MARY PARNELL (nee TERLECKI)
Born: Mar 25, 1912
Date of Passing: May 04, 2002
Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PARNELL (nee TERLECKI) It is with great sadness our family announces that on Saturday, May 4, 2002, at West Park Manor, our Mom and Grandma, Mary Parnell, aged 90, died peacefully. She was predeceased by her dear husband of 52 years, Fred and her sisters, Stanus, Lil, and Carrie. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her only son Bud and his wife Marlene; grandsons, Brent (Brandi), Blaine (Lisa) and David (Michelle) along with her sister Jean and nieces and nephews. Mary was born March 25, 1912, in Winnipeg, MB. She grew up in Winnipegs north end where she began a life of hard work and dedication. She was devoted to her loving family and was so proud of her only son, Bud and her grandsons. Mary was the kind of person who would give anything to anyone. Her door was always open and her table always full. She was renowned for preparing special meals whenever her nieces or nephews came to town and was well known for her special treats. We will all miss her holopchi, perogies and chocolate chip cookies. Gram was her boys number one fan, attending every hockey, baseball and soccer game. She knit toques, mitts, and neck warmers not only for her grandsons, but for the whole team. She loved to baby-sit as long as she was around her boys. At the age of 87 she left her north end home for West Park Manor where, in the last two years of her life, she smiled and sang non-stop and never turned down a chocolate. Her family wishes to thank the staff at West Park (in particular Margaret) for the wonderful care Mary received. Cremation has taken place. A brief committal service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Marys memory to the Childrens Hospital Research Foundation, 501 - 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg MB R3A 1S1. "Well miss you Gram!"
