ARLENE MARY GEEKIE Suddenly on Sunday, May 12, 2002, Arlene Mary Geekie passed away in her home, at the age of 61. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Tom of 40 years; and her children, Janice and Dennis (Gail). Arlene graduated from St. Marys Academy and went on to pursue a career as a Medical Secretary. She also spent many dedicated and happy years as a Secretary in the school system. In Arlene and Toms retirement, many happy years were spent wintering in Mesa, AZ. There she enjoyed slot machines, golf, the warm climate and mostly her winter holiday friends. Arlene was a talented crafter and especially proud of her painting accomplishments. Summers in Winnipeg were spent celebrating special occasions on the backyard patio with family and friends. The Geekie patio was famous for its "happy hours". Every year Arlene and Tom looked forward to co-ordinating the annual corn roast for their circle of friends. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Friday, May 17, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arlenes memory can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6.
