LILLIAN IONA LOVERNE FIDLER 1929 - 2002 After a prolonged illness, Loverne passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at Oakview Place. She was born in Winnipeg and was predeceased by her mother and father. Loverne is survived by her brother Robert and her precious Lilly, also her Uncle John Creighton and family in Ontario, Floyd and Shirley Wurm and family in Porterville, CA. Loverne worked 30 years for the military. She worked her way up to secretary to the Deputy Commander of Air Command Headquarters. Loverne was an active member of St. Andrews Anglican Church until her illness, enjoying her association with the Anglican Church Women, especially helping with the bazaar and as a home visitor. Loverne also served as vestry clerk for the church for some time. Loverne will long be remembered for her sense of humour, devotion to family, church and to her co-workers at Canadian Forces Base, Winnipeg. A service to celebrate her life will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave., on Friday July 26 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Lovernes memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
