WILLIAM (BILL) RITCHIE William (Bill) Ritchie passed away in his 86th year, on July 24, 2002 at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC. Bill was rai sed in rural Manitoba where, in Warren, he met and married Fern, his beloved wife for over 63 years. He is survived by Fern; sons, Grant (Judy), Harold (Judy) daughterDelle Wood (Ralph) seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Bill was involved in construction all his life, as a contractor, lumberyard owner, and C.M.H.C building inspector in Winnipeg, retiring after 23 years of service. In 1989, Bill and Fern moved to Arbutus Ridge, BC where they enjoyed the warmth and companionship of many good friends and neighbors. Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed many hobbies - square dancing, bridge, curling, gardening, golfing, bowling, woodworking, renovating, and oil painting. However, music was the love of his life! Over the years, Bill played a variety of instruments in dance bands. The family enjoyed many happy occasions together when grandma and grandpa played duets on the organ and piano. We wish to extend special thanks to the nurses and doctors of 2 West, Royal Jubilee Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations are gratefully accepted for the Heart and Stroke Fund. Interment and memorial service to be held in Warren, MB at a later date.
