ESTHER ANDERSON FEILBERG Esther Feilberg died peacefully at Ste. Anne Hospital on November 20, 2002. She was born in Lundar, MB on June 20, 1916. She grew up in McMunn, MB. On February 15, 1946 Esther married her sweetheart, Nikolai Feilberg. He predeceased her on December 20, 1996. She will be sorely missed by her four children, Lorna (Neils) Annell, Lawrence (Annette), Margaret and Paul Feilberg, as well as 14 grandchildren, Kari (Len) Penner, April (Carl), Heidi, Britta and Anders Annell, Farrell (Tegan), Lorella, Lorianne and Robin Feilberg, Ingrid (Cory) and Christopher Hellesoe, Cheri, Candace, Benjamin Feilberg; also six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Ryan, Quinn and Jordan Houston, Jasmine Feilberg. She is survived by one sister Sophie Bazay and one brother Alfred Anderson, both of Ontario, also survived by sister-in-law Gwen Feilberg of British Columbia and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lena and Haakon Feilberg of East Braintree, MB, as well as many nieces and nephews in Norway, Denmark, Canada and the United States. She was predeceased by her parents, Ingrid and August Anderson; husband Nikolai Feilberg; her sisters, Gudrun and Annie, both of Norway; sisters-in-law, Eva, Anna, Marie of Denmark, Elizabeth of Saskatchewan and brothers-in-law, Henning of British Columbia and Nils-Peter of Denmark. Esther Anderson Feilberg was the heart of our family and the centre of her community. If there was an event happening in East Braintree, she was probably doing most of the work and enjoying every minute of it. She compiled a community history book in 1990 and provided the push that secured the old Midwinter School as a Manitoba Heritage Site. Esther was known for her love of gardening and for her love for God. She was one of the founding members of the East Braintree Community Church. Funeral service will be at The East Braintree Evangelical Church on November 25 at 2:00 p.m. (Private family viewing one hour before the service). A donation in Esther Feilbergs memory can be made to The Midwinter Heritage Site, c/o Lorraine Kerr, East Braintree, MB R0E 0L0 or to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
