MADELINE PRICE (Nee LYSAK) Peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2002 at Pembina Place Bethania Personal Care Home, Madeline Price, our beloved sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ann Torch, Mary Lysak, Lillian Buckowski and Jessie Cherniak. Madeline leaves to cherish her memory her sister Rose Nykon, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Madie was born in Gimli, MB, and at an early age, her family moved to Winnipeg and settled in Ft. Rouge where Madie lived all her life. At a young age, she began training as a hairdresser, a career that she loved and continued well past any normal retirement age. After a long day at work, she would share her knowledge and techniques teaching and helping new students who shared her passion. Early in her career, she became a well established business woman. With her two partners, they operated the Biltmore Beauty Salon, located in the Boyd Building and her clients included many people from the entertainment industry who travelled to Winnipeg for performances and charity events. Her sharp wit and honest and loving smile will always be remembered by her family, friends and all who came in contact with her. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, December 18, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. also at Cropo Chapel with Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Nykon, Shawn Nykon, Daniel Bielak, David Swatek, Tim Torch and Cory Torch. The family would like to thank the nurses and care workers at Pembina Place Bethania Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Madies memory to the Salvation Army.
