DORA FEDYNIAK (1919 - 2002) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother and Baba on December 30, 2002. Dora was born on September 3, 1919, in the village of Zalaniv in Western Ukraine. Her home life was disrupted by the war. Then in 1945, in Germany, she met and married her husband Paul who was from the same area in the Ukraine as Dora was from. They moved to Manchester, England, where they lived for two years. In December of 1948, they immigrated to Canada, settling in Winnipeg in the North End for their entire lives. Dora was a kind, patient, gentle woman who saw many changes in her life. She enjoyed a peaceful quiet lifestyle while at the same time being fiercely independent. Anyone who had the good fortune to know her was positively affected by her kind spirit. She worked her entire life for the betterment of her family; however, Dora also enjoyed many personal things. She was a member of her church, Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, for over 50 years. She read, she embroidered, she loved to cook for her family. Her joy was tending her garden and flowers, creating beauty where there was none. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was a success! Dora will be forever remembered by her friends and family; her son Eugene, her granddaughter Jenna, daughter-in-law Olga and grandson Andy. She will also be missed by relatives of the Dmytriw family in Western Manitoba and her family and friends in the Ukraine. While there is always sadness in the passing of a loved one, the warm thoughts and memories of Dora will remain forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew her. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 3 at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral mass will follow the next day Saturday, January 4 at 12:00 noon at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 114 McGregor St., with interment at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to Seven Oaks Hospital. Dora Fedyniaks family...
