MORTON STEIMAN Our beloved father passed away at home in Rancho Mirage, CA on Wednesday, December 11, 2002. He was 85. Our father was born March 7, 1917 in Winnipeg, Canada. He moved to Los Angeles in 1939 at age 22, and joined the U.S. Army in 1942. Upon returning home from military service, Dad began a lifetime career in sales. In 1960, he joined the New York Life Insurance Company where he discovered his true calling, and enjoyed a long and distinguished career. He was a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Round Table; Court of the Table; a Centurion for over 30 years; Charter Member of the NYLIC Summit; and in 1986, having achieved the distinction of being the top producer of the 9,000-agent NYLIC US-Canadian field force, became President of the Top Club. He is survived by his loving longtime partner and companion of over 30 years, Fatima Beaver; daughters, Ilene Steiman of San Diego, and Marilyn (Jerry) Gitt of Palm Desert; grandson Cory Gitt; our mother Bette Steiman; and sisters, Doris Gould and Marion Katz, both of Canada. Services were held in Los Angeles, December 13. The family suggests donations be made to Visiting Nurse Association, 42-600 Cook St., Palm Desert, CA 92211.
