RICHER (RICK) LaFLECHE After a long and valiant struggle to stay with us, Rick passed away at the age of 69 years in Kelowna, BC on Sunday, May 4, 2003. Born April 28, 1934 in Winnipeg, Rick spent most of his life in construction as a heavy equipment operator and built many of the highways and by-ways that Manitobans travel today and in Kelowna. He spent many years with Westlake Paving as the batch plant operator in the tower, appropriately named "Ricks Roost". Lovingly remembered by Gail, his wife of 48 years; daughters, Michelle, Laurie (Terry), Danielle (Greg) grandchildren, Leigh and Dale of whom he was so proud of; sisters, Louise of Brandon, MB, Yvette (Ron) of Roberts Creek, BC; brother Frank (Jeannette) of Ottawa; sisters-in-law, Maxine of Dauphin, MB and Joan of Montreal; brothers-in-law, John (Betty) of Sechelt, BC and Vince (Rita) of Vancouver; and many special nieces and nephews, and longtime friends. Predeceased by her parents, sister Simone and brother Claude. No formal service as per Ricks wishes but any impromptu gathering to celebrate his life would be encouraged.
