MAUREEN AUDREY SKAFTFELD (nee MUIR) Maureen passed away peacefully on September 3, 2003, at home after a brief illness surrounded by her family. Maureen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was predeceased by her husband Harold and mother Belle. Mom is survived by her loving daughters, Julie (Marvin) and Janine; and granddaughter Bailey; and also her brother-in-law Ron; sister-in-law Marnie; nephew Michael (wife Lana and son Paul) niece Susan, Uncle Matt and Brooks; many more family and dear friends. We admired Mom for her altruistic nature, her incredible strength and her endless caring throughout her life. She faced many challenges with resolve and always remained warm-hearted. Her passion was gathering family and friends together especially for Sunday dinner and special occasions. She took great pride in her home and garden. Mom was always busy meeting friends for lunches, playing golf, going to the theatre and was an active member in support group activities. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 8 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team for their compassion.
