ROBERT W. LOGAN "PAPPY" Dad passed away peacefully on Friday September 5, 2003 at Oakview Place at the age of 85 years. He was the beloved husband of the late Kay Logan and father to Darrell and Barry and daughter-in-law Jean; brother to Alex and his beloved cat "Sara". He was predeceased by his parents, mother (1950), father (1965), brother Dave (1996). Dad was educated at Lord Selkirk School and St. Johns Technical High School. He was on active service 1939 to 1945 with R.C.A.S.C. in Canada, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, and Germany. He was recalled in 1950 for service in the Winnipeg Flood at which his mother passed away. Dad had many jobs including CNR, Dominion Bridge, and for 22 years at Headingley Correctional Facility until retirement in 1982. In retirement Dad loved to travel, carve wood, model railroading and reading until a stroke took his sight in 1997. He had been a resident at Oakview Place for three years. Thank you to all the staff at Oakview Place as well as all the pet visitors he had. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the corner of Ness Avenue and Sturgeon Road. Viewing will take place on Monday, September 8 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society. 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
