Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTUR DA SILVA GARCIA It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Artur da Silva Garcia, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on September 5, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 75 years. Besides his wife, Adelaide, he is survived by his sons, Artur Fernando and Manny Garcia; daughter, Della (Henrique) Silva; and grandchildren, Sabrina, Jaime, Sofia, and Julio Silva. He also leaves to mourn his sister Maria and brother-in-law Manuel Goulart of Toronto; his sister Marina and brother-in-law Manuel Nunes of Pico Azores; his sister Lucilia and brother-in-law Joao Dias of Toronto; sister-in-law Maria and brother-in-law Virgilio Nunes of Pico Azores; sister-in-law Fatima and brother-in-law Joao Dias of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Geraldina Sousa of Winnipeg; sister-in-law and goddaughter Altina and brother-in-law Jose Sousa of Winnipeg and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Maria Fernanda (1960) his mother Francisca (1992) and his father Francisco (1981) Garcia and brother Manuel Goulart (1940) Garcia. Artur was born on the island of Pico in the archipelago of Azores. He immigrated to Canada in 1963 with his wife and infant son Artur Fernando. His two other children Manny and Della were born in Winnipeg. Artur worked as a concrete finisher most of his life. Artur was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank all family and friends for their support. Prayers will be on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. Rev. Father Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. If friends so desire, donations in Arturs memory may be made to Cerebral Palsy. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
