GORDON RAYMOND MUSSELL At home, and on his own terms, Gordon passed away on September 17, 2003 with his two sons by his side. Gordon was born April 9, 1927, the youngest of three children to Walter and Daisy Mussell. He was raised in Elmwood and was renowned for excellence in athletics and academics. In 1948, Gordon married his high school sweetheart, Irene McQuay. They lived long, full and prosperous lives in both Winnipeg and Toronto. Irene passed away on October 4, 2002. Irene was the true love of his life. They are now "together forever". Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Gordon (Susan) and Greg (Cheryl), and his grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Kathryn and David. He was also predeceased by his parents and brother, Mervyn. Gordon was a very well respected member of the insurance industry in which he worked for over 40 years. He was foremost a family man, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Though Gordon enjoyed countless accomplishments in his life, time spent in his garden was when his spirited nature and joy for life was decidedly evident. The family thanks Dr. Barry MacMillan, Cancer Care Manitoba and the Palliative Care Unit and team at the St. Boniface Hospital. Their caring, understanding, compassion and expertise are beyond words. At Gordons request, cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at a private family ceremony in Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial service to honour Gordon will be held at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., on Saturday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Fletcher Stewart, Rector, will preside. A reception will follow at the church. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations can be made in Gordons memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 208-900 St. James St., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 3J7. Only a few are chosen - we have known one. Now, we are at rest. KLASSEN Funeral Chapel 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
