WILLIAM (BILL) JOSEPH TAYLOR It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of William Joseph Taylor at his home in Canyon Meadows Retirement Residence on Saturday, September 20, 2003. Bill will be so greatly missed by his wife Lucy, and his daughter Joy and all that loved and admired him including his grandchildren, Karen, Tammy, Christopher, Timothy and Maria and all of his beautiful great-grandchildren, Jason, Kristy, Michelle, Scott, Brent, Rayven and Jonathan. Bill was predeceased by his loving daughter Valerie; his parents Min and James; his brothers, Roy and James Taylor. Bill was born March 3, 1912 in Neepawa, MB and always loved the country. He will be remembered fondly as a hard worker who joined the Fire Department and retired as a Captain after 40 years. Bill was always willing to lend a hand for needy children and anyone who needed assistance, be it family or friends. A sweet outgoing, sociable person who just loved to "talk". Graveside services to be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery (4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB) on Tuesday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Michael Moore and Chaplain Mark Young. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bills memory to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta (1825 Park Rd. SE, Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6) or to the Firemans Burn Fund at Foothills Hospital (1403 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2C 2T9). The family thanks the staff of Canyon Meadows Retirement Residence and Bills Home Care Staff and the Winnipeg Fire Department for their very special care. Arrangements entrusted to Leydens Funeral Home and Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Telephone: 403-228-4422/204-885-9137.
