TEENA STEFANOWICZ (nee LAPINSKY) January 1, 1913 - November 2, 2003 On November 2, 2003 Teena Stefanowicz passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in October 1974; daughter-in-law Beryl Stefanowich in November 2002; children, Alexander and Helen and numerous brothers and sisters during the Second World War. Teena is survived by her daughter Olga (Jim) of Coquitlam, BC; son George of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Candace (Brian) Sheppitt, Carla and Howard Gurvich, Cora (Scott) Oswald, John (Chris) Stefanowich, Roma Stefanowich, Julie (Tommy) Frederick and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; dear friends Lily and Nina. Teena was born January 1, 1913 in Poland, where she met her husband Nicholas and later immigrated to Canada in 1949. She worked at Western Glove as a sewing machine operator. After Teenas retirement she spent most of her time cooking beautiful meals and tending her yard and garden at home and at her cottage at Hillside Beach. Gramma also had a knack for sewing, crocheting and knitting; spending numerous hours making hats, mittens, scarves, slippers, blankets, etc. for her family. She was an inspiration for us, and taught us what in life is important. Your health and family come first. She was truly an angel from Heaven who never asked for anything or ever complained. Gramma was the most caring, loving and generous person with a funny sense of humour. She always enjoyed a good visit with her family. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for all their warm and wonderful care they gave Gramma over the past three years. They often made her feel very special and loved. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held in celebration of Teenas life on Wednesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Father Wesley Cwiek officiating. Memorial donations to CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated. Gramma, you are now free of pain. Thank you God, for giving us the most beautiful angel. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 222-6677.
