Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE SIMON FINKEL Of Blessed Memory 1922 - 2003 Leslie Finkel passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital, November 27, 2003, aged 81. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 58 years, Rose; six children, Jack of Vancouver, BC, Alvin of Edmonton, AB, Reeva (Warren Apotove) of Toronto, ON, Marvin of Toronto, ON and Arlene and Sandra of Winnipeg and six grandchildren, Antony, Blaire, Kieran, Kimberley, Jessica and Jazmin. Born in the Shtettl of Choloiv, Poland in February 1922, Leslie moved to Winnipeg with his family in 1937. He worked in the garment industry before serving his country in the Second World War. From 1956 to his retirement in 1983, Leslie worked in the CPR shops. Dad was a dedicated father who sometimes worked three jobs at once to ensure that his family was provided for. A devoted family man, Leslies love of his family consoled him during several years of illness that preceded his death. Thanks to the staff of Seven Oaks for their supportive care to Dad. Services for Leslie Finkel will be held Sunday, November 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Chesed Shel Emes Chapel, 1023 Main St. with burial to follow at BNay Abraham Cemetery.
