Predeceased by his father Peter, he leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 34 years, Ursula; his children, Mark, Kathy (Gordon Moore), Tim (Kim Sevick) his grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas; his mother Catherine; sister Barbara Kofler; brother Gordon (Valerie) sisters-in-law, Maggie and Betty Dominowski; nephews, Michael and Kevin Kofler, Damian and Justin Kraemer and Andrew Dominowski and many other relatives and friends. Born and raised in Winnipegs north end, Peter attended St. Josephs, St. Pauls and Sisler High Schools. For 30 years he worked as a boilermaker with the CNR and enjoyed the camaraderie of his co-workers. Peter served as president and local chairman of the International Union of Boilermakers and Blacksmiths Local 126 and on the Federation at Transcona Shops. Peter loved life to the fullest and participated in many activities. He enjoyed wood working in his garage, building arbors, long walks at Kildonan Park, curling at Rossmere, fishing in the Whiteshell, lending a helping hand wherever needed and, above all, spending time at the cottage which was largely built by himself and his family. Over the years he was actively involved as a leader in the 38th Scout Troup, Knights of Columbus, Altar Society, Leisure Club and was a long time member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish. He was devoted to his family and always put his family first. He took great pride in his childrens accomplishments. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his beloved grandsons, Matty and Nicky, his boys. Peter was always generous, loving, patient, dependable and hard working; qualities that earned him the respect and admiration from those whose lives he touched. Peter will be remembered often and with much love in the hearts and minds of his family and friends. The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends for their prayers and support. We would also like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their special care.
