DOUGLAS JAMES FLOREN With great sorrow we announce the passing of our deeply loved husband and father Doug Floren. After a long hard struggle Doug passed away at Concordia Hospital with his family by his side. Doug is survived by his loving wife Donna of 54 years; daughters, Judy (Les), Joni (Garry) sister Bess (Stan) Sweetland; and sister-in-law Evelyn Floren. He was predeceased by his mother Mary; father Jack and brother John. Doug was born and educated in Morse Place. His first job was Driver/Sales in 1941 (horse and wagon) for Spiers Parnell, now Westons. He joined the army in 1942 and served with the Canadian Parachute Corps (Airborne), being discharged in 1946. Doug went to work for Modern Dairies and in 1958 he went to work for Bryces Bakery, later known as McGavins Bakery. Doug retired in 1983. He was a long time member of the Prince Edward Legion Branch 81; a life member of Elks Lodge of Canada; a member of 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion Association; a member of Pine Ridge Golf Club for over 30 years, and a long time member of the "Every Second Tuesday Breakfast Club". We want to thank all the nurses and staff on N2E of the Concordia Hospital. Doug loved you all, God Bless you. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel.
