CECILIA B. KUBAS August 18, 1918 - February 28, 2004 After a recent battle with Crohns disease, and two strokes, succumbed to cancer with many local family in attendance. Cecilia loved her family and treasured her friends. She would want you to know that you were there for her just as she needed you to be. On behalf of my mother and myself, I would like to thank the many staff and patients at St. Michaels Hospital, St. Johns Rehabilitation Centre for their compassion and care. Cremation was on March 1. Cecilia will be laid to rest with her late husband at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, with a graveside service. The original obitbulkloaduary was in the Toronto Star on St. Patricks Day because it was special in oh so many ways to my mother and me (daughter Jane). (That, and she claimed a bit of the Irish in her). And if you wonder what last song I would dedicate to Mom, it would be something from Burton Cummings, because she loved piano and because he is from Winnipeg (as is many of our family). Cecilia loved the butterflies and she lies with the Impasse Butterfly now. I would sing to her, "Fly, just swoop and soar and spin, Glide, above where you have been." Rest in peace Mom.
