ANDREW (ANDY) STEWART Andrew (Andy) Stewart, aged 69, husband of Martha (Mabel) Stewart died peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2004 after losing a brief fight against cancer. Andy was born on March 10, 1935 in Broomhouse, Scotland. He was the fourth son of George and Annie Stewart. He was predeceased by his father George, mother Annie, and brothers, George, Robert and John. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mabel of Portage la Prairie; son Andrew (Allyson) and children, A.J. and Eryn all of Stonewall; daughter Kathryn Olson and children, Daniel and Corey all of Portage la Prairie; son Matthew (Cindy) and their son Taylor all of Beausejour and brother Jim (Ellen) Stewart of England. Also very special to him was his niece Susie (Rob) Voesenek and children, Victoria, Kaitlyn, Rebecca and Robert all of Bagot and longtime family friend Colin (Anne) Whitehurst and family of Winnipeg. He will be fondly remembered by many friends in Arizona, Portage and numerous relatives in Scotland. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 102 3rd St. S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB on Wednesday, April 14 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ken Harris officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andys memory to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8 or to Sunset Palliative Care, Inc., Box 92, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A7.
