MARIJA STAMPF October 18, 1919 - May 21, 2004 Marija passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter holding her hand on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Marija was predeceased by her husband Duro and her sisters, Juliska, Katica and Ana. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her daughter Ana (Drago) Bandel; granddaughter Gordana (Dave) Kinsley, great-grandsons, Chris and Jonathan; granddaughter Renata Bandel (Jason Komorofsky), great-grandsons, Dylan and Logan; granddaughter Nancy Bandel (Bill Watchman), great-grandson Alexander. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Wincezeffi as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Marija loved spending time with her family. She showered her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love and praise, treats and gifts. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and knitting. God Called You Home It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you the day God called you home. Though your smile is gone forever, and your hand we cannot touch, We will never lose the memory of one we loved so much. Thanks for the loving years you gave us, The happy times we shared, We all pray that when you left us, You knew how much we cared. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will be linked again. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of St. Boniface for the special care given to Marija during her stay there. Flowers are gratefully declined. Prayers will be held Wednesday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
