STEFKA LABA (nee PARTYKA) March 6, 1920 - June 1, 2004 Peacefully on June 1, 2004, our beloved mother and Baba Stefka "Steffie" Laba passed away at Middlechurch Personal Care Centre with her family by her side. Mom is survived by her three children, Noreen and Ed Woloskoski, Bob and Rose Laba, and Alexandra and Mercil Solomon; eight grandchildren, Deanna, Daniel, Christine, Bobby, Robin, Roberta, Steven, and Michael; and by three great-grandchildren, Micaela, Coleman, and Mackenzie. She also leaves to mourn her brothers, Walter (Helen), Michael (Nell), and Henry (Elsie) sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Alexander Laba; her parents; two sisters, one in infancy and one as a child; and by three brothers, Peter, Nicholas, and William. Mom was a wonderful "stay at home" mom, who loved and cared for her family till the end. Mom always put her family first and sacrificed everything in order to give her family the best life here on earth. Mom enjoyed all the good things in life. She had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, and knitting. Most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren till the end. Her family will miss her dearly and forever keep her in their hearts and prayers. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to everyone involved with her care at Middlechurch Home, especially the wonderful and caring staff on D2. God bless you all for the care and compassion you have given to our Mom and family. Funeral service will take place Friday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Rd. Rev. Father Raymond Lukie C.S.S.R. will officiate. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Middlechurch Personal Care Centre.
