AUDREY FAST (MIKUSH)
Born: Apr 04, 1927
Date of Passing: Sep 17, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY FAST (nee MIKUSH) April 4, 1927 - September 17, 2004 It is with mixed emotion that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother after a long battle with arthritis and heart disease. Mother left us to be with her beloved soul angel, Neil who predeceased her in 1969. She was also predeceased by her parents, Natalie and John; sisters, Dorothy and Mildred. She is survived by her children, Jodie, Braden (Kathy) and Richard (Terry) grandchildren, Audra (Dwayne), Christine (Corey), Blane and Treana; and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born and raised in the north end, eventually marrying and settling in Transcona, sharing 20 years of love and happiness, raising three "kids" while making many lifelong friends. After losing her husband she reentered the work force at MTS and the Health Sciences Centre Physicians business office until her retirement in 1987. For the past 15 years Mom lived in Kildonan Manor where she developed many friendships especially with Evelyn and Eleanor. Her family was her life and in spite of her physical pain and illness, she loved seeing her children and grandchildren together particularly at family dinners, parties and various gatherings. Mom passed away at the Grace Hospice on a beautiful, warm autumn evening with her loving family by her side. Our family was truly blessed to have witnessed such wonderful, compassionate and dignified care from the staff and volunteers at this great facility. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and attendants at St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals and all the home care workers. In keeping with Moms wishes, no formal service will be held and cremation has taken place. Mom always embraced and tried to enjoy life as much as possible and so, she is inviting family and friends to a "come and go celebration of life" on Saturday, October 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Transcona Scout Hall, southwest Winona and Melrose. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr., if so desired. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
