OLIVE MAY FERRIS Peacefully, in her sleep, at home, Olive passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2004. She leaves to mourn her husband of 32 years, Mel; and her sons, Michael, and Kendall of Carman; twin sister Gail of Eriksdale; sisters-in-law, Gayle Holmes of Winnipeg, Gladys Holmes of Teulon, Verla and Cliff Olson of Winnipeg, Gayle and Bernard Gehring of Carman; and other extended family members. Olive also leaves the joy and love of her life, her grandson Bailey Jacques and his mother Jocelyn Jacques of Notre Dame de Lourdes. Many precious hours spent with laughter and joy. Olive was predeceased by her parents, Charlie (1967) and Esther (2000) her brothers, Doug (1991) and Larry (2004). She loved life and made many friends along its path even though her health was not always the best. She never complained and always had a smile, and the words, "Im fine". Her friends were very close and dear to her especially her old Bingo buddies, Joan Anderson and Kay Ferris. Thanks for watching out for her. Special and dearest friend Kathy Sotheran who made her days endurable and her outings a pleasure. Her summers she enjoyed at the Carman Park with the campers (Mel being the campground host), and her winters watching her boys play hockey. Olive will be dearly missed by all who knew her, always the spark in the darkness and the guiding light. Funeral service will be held from the Carman United Church in Carman on Thursday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will take place in the Sperling Cemetery. Lunch will follow in the Sperling Community Hall. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Carman Hospital Aux., Box 1025, Carman, MB R0G 0J0 or to a charity of ones choice.
