FLOYD ROBERT SMITH 1946 - 2004 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side, Floyd passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 57. Floyd will be lovingly missed by his wife of 35 years, Margaret; daughters, Leanne and Maureen (Vince) grandchildren, Carley, Brittney and Anthony; sister Vicky Chemerika and her family; foster sister Pat Cann and her family; family members and friends. Floyd was predeceased by his parents, Irene and Victor Smith; and his nephew Shawn MacDonald. Floyd was born on November 6, 1946 and spent all of his life in Winnipeg. He loved to curl and spend time at his cabin. Floyd was actively involved with his Native background and loved his culture. He was given his Indian name, High Flying Eagle Man by an Elder. All his spare time was dedicated to his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. We would like to express our appreciation to the staff on GA5 Health Sciences Centre, and to the caring staff on 3E Riverview Health Centre for all the support and care given to Floyd and family. We would also like a big thank you to Homecare for looking after him when he was at home and a special thank you to Marlene for all of her support. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care at Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 9Z9. Floyd, you are soaring high with your eagles or are running with the wolves. We love you forever and miss you. Until we meet again.
