GRACE JANETTE SMITH (nee TURNBULL) It is with sadness that we, her family, announce the passing of Grace Smith at the Victoria General Hospital, on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. Grace was born in Winnipeg on January 3, 1920 and spent her early life in the "West End". She often spoke of her wonderfully happy times growing up on Ingersoll Street, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Her career, as cost accountant, was with National Drugs from where she retired. Grace was predeceased by her parents, William and Rooney Turnbull; and her brother William and his wife Margaret. She will be sadly missed by her brother Gordon (Joyce), their children, Brian, Sandra and Robert; nephews, William and Richard; cousin Clara (Jim) as well as other relatives and many good friends. The family sincerely thanks the dedicated doctors and nurses in the MIC Units of both the Health Sciences Centre and the Victoria General Hospital for their concern and care of Grace. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Saturday, October 9 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street). Interment will take place on Tuesday, October 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of ones choice.
