ROBERT (BOB) CLARENCE LAIDLAW Robert Laidlaw, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend left this world in his 72nd year on Saturday, November 27, 2004 with his family by his side. Bob was predeceased by his first wife Nancy (nee Stupak) in 1984; an infant son Jeffery in 1956; his parents, Casper in 1980 and Ione in 1982 and a brother-in-law Zack Morse in 1997. He leaves to celebrate his life, his loving wife Edie (nee Dean) and his children, Rob from Deland, Florida, Gary (Kathy) from Winnipeg, Cheryl (Michael) from Mastic Beach, New York and Rick from Canmore; Edies children, Kim (Darren Petriew) and Dean Bruce all of Red Deer, AB; grandchildren, Cole, Amie, Erin, Justine and Jessica Laidlaw, Cinda (Ronnie) Chase, Max and Curtis Hervieux, Eric, Sarah and Evan Petriew; sisters, Louise Morse and Carol (Charles) Ogard; brother Ken; sisters-in-law, Sandra Riddell, Dianne (Doug) McLeod, Beth (John) Bratton, Joan (Dan) Baldwin, Barb (Calvin) Raffey, as well as 19 nieces and nephews. Bob was a tall man with a big heart and big smile. He was born in 1933 in Winnipeg. His early years were spent on the farm at Starbuck, MB. In 1942 the family moved to St. Vital where they continued to farm. Bob and Nancy were married in 1953. He delivered laundry, drove construction equipment and had various other part-time jobs as well as farming in the early years of marriage to support his growing family. In 1962 he was hired by Allis Chalmers and spent 30+ years in the farm machinery business. He held the position of Service Manager for Manitoba. In 1975 he sold the farm and he and Nancy and two of their four children moved to Regina where he took the position of Sales Manager for Western Canada. He retired from this Company in 1996. Although he suffered from Alzheimer Disease, Bob continued to lead an active life after his retirement. He looked forward to meetings at the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan with others who had his affliction and encouraged others to visit the Alzheimer Society for education and support. He enjoyed his winters in Thousand Palms, CA. One of his greatest pleasures was summers at the cottage at Katepwa Lake with his children and grandchildren. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Sunset United Church, 177 Sunset Dr., Regina, SK on Thursday, December 2 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Lori Erhardt officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 - 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SKS4P 3X1. Oh how lucky we were to have had him with us to love and be loved by. How we will miss him!!!!
