EMILY LISOWSKI (nee SOCHASKI) Passed on, peacefully on December 17, 2004 after a long and well-lived life. She was born and grew up in the Dnister community near Gimli. She resided both in Winnipeg and at her family farm. Emily had the gift of adding love and life to all the things she did well: cooking, sewing, gardening or babysitting. She was known for her dill pickles, beefsteak tomatoes, perogies and lemon meringue pie. She loved to watch things grow, from seeds in her garden to the children and pets around her. She loved nature and kept her mind young and active. She enjoyed the 11:00 p.m. news, Pierre Trudeau and Tommy Hunter. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Anthony; her sisters, Carol and Anne; her brothers, Adam and Adolphe. Carrying on the tradition are her son Les, wife Paula; granddaughter Christina; grandsons, Adam, Aiki, Keith and Darren; niece Carol, nephews, Tom and Rick; and sisters-in-law, Eva and Olga. A small celebration of her life is being held for close friends and family at 67 Roberts Cr. from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I have many fond memories of Emily when we lived next door to the family on Bannerman....train trips to the farm, skating and sliding in her back yard, eating her donuts fresh from thr fryer, and just hanging out in her kitchen. She always had an ear to listen and was kind and warm hearted to a little (pest) neighbour girl. - Posted by: Diane Evans (nee Murray) (Acquaintance) on: Dec 21, 2004
