Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE FENNING Peacefully on December 30, 2004 at the Bethania Nursing Home in Winnipeg, MB, Elsie Fenning, aged 88 years, formerly of Hilbre, MB. Elsie was born December 5, 1916 in Winnipeg. She moved to the Bayton District with her parents. She attended school at Bayton and in 1942 she married Carl Richard Palm. Together Elsie and Dick owned and operated the Hilbre General Store for 15 years. She was predeceased by her husband Dick in 1957. On August 8, 1959 she married Arnold Fenning, and they continued to run the store until retiring in 1981. Elsie was a member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and playing cards. She also belonged to the Faulkner Seniors Club. Elsie leaves to mourn one daughter Eva Palm of Winnipeg; one son Richard (Judy) of Calgary, AB; two grandchildren, Richard and Ronnie; two brothers, Harold (Mary) Bittner of Ashern, MB and Art (Marjorie) Bittner of Moosehorn, MB; sisters, Matilda Meisner of Ashern and Evelyn (Art) Weigelt of Winnipeg; also many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her second husband Arnold in 1997; brothers, Albert, Bob, Walter and Eddie; sisters, Hilda Hjartarson, Lydia Dillabough and Alma Springer. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peace Lutheran Church, Moosehorn, MB with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Following a luncheon in the church interment will take place at the Hilbre cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Bittner, Lawrence Bittner, Alan Springer, Don Springer, Brian Kiesman and Doug Kiesman. Viewing will take place at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, in care of Marlene Meisner, Moosehorn, MB.
