ROBERT ALLAN FINDLAY Peacefully, on January 19, 2005, Robert Allan Findlay passed away at the Grace Hospice. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years Isobel; his sons, Bob, Keith (Connie), Jim (Pat); daughter Rosemary (Rick); daughters-in-law, Phyllis and Lorna; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Allan was born in Morden, MB on July 4, 1915. He attended school at Rosebank, MB, then began a 35 year career with Grey Goose Bus Lines in 1937. During the Second World War Allan spent five years overseas with the Canadian Army. Upon his return he met and married Isobel Malcolmson from Carman. They lived in Winnipeg where their four children were born; in 1956 they moved to Warren, MB. In 1971 Allan started the Warren Tire Shop, which he ran until 1976. He and Isobel moved to Winnipeg in 1983. He enjoyed a long retirement, spending 16 winters in Texas and five in Victoria. He and Isobel also made three trips to England. Allan enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to him. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and quick wit. A memorial service for Allan will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, MB on Saturday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Grace Cancer Care and Grace Hospice for the care and special attention given to Allan.
