DARYL MARTENS It is with great sadness that Daryl's family announces his unexpected passing on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at his home. He was 49 years old. Daryl will be missed by his two sons, Andrew and Daniel; his brother Brian; sister Linda and niece Larissa; his parents, Hank and Lois; aunt Lydia and cousin Mark; dearest friend Shelley; and numerous other close friends and relatives. Daryl was born on June 24, 1955 in Winnipeg. He had a great passion for life and music, and enjoyed playing rock and roll music LOUDLY on his drum kit. This love of music influenced his family and friends, who now take solace in remembering some of his favourite songs. Daryl also enjoyed camping and the outdoors, and loved to get away to the beach. Daryl was an electrician by trade, and was a great resource to his family, most recently helping his sister purchase a home. He was devoted to his family, and was always there to support them in any way he could. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Dear Lois, Brian, Linda and family: Always respected Daryl's appreciation of Rock and Roll music back in the early 1970's at the loft in the old Elmwood area house. It certainly helped me aspire to the West Coast Jazz scene later in life and had many a fond memory of "just listening" at the house. Your boys will certainly carry on the drum beat. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Ron Fernstrom (early friend of Daryl's brother Brian in the 1970's) on: Nov 01, 2013
