MENNO RICHARD KROEKER Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on March 30, 2005 at the Gimli Community Health Centre at the age of 79. Dad was born to Peter D. and Sara Kroeker on April 29, 1925, on the farm north of Steinbach. He was the oldest of nine children - three brothers and five sisters. He became a Christian at the age of 21 followed by baptism and membership in the local Steinbach E.M. Church. He entered Steinbach Bible College in 1947 and received his diploma in 1950. He married his wife, Aurelia Peters, on July 24, 1949. He moved his family to Portage La Prairie in 1960. In 1962 Dad moved his family to Kola and started a professional painting business. He was elected into the ministry in the Kola E.M. church. In 1970 he received a call to pastor the church in Riverton. In 1978 they moved to MacGregor where he pastored the E.M. church. Upon his retirement in 1990, he served in short-term ministries in Taber, Alberta, Kola and twice in Mexico. They moved back to Riverton in 1996 where they settled to be closer to their children. Some of his joys and highlights were baptizing some of his children, marrying some of his children and one grandson. He loved music, especially singing. He loved reading and studying. He enjoyed nature - feeding the birds, fishing, animals, lakes and mountains. He preached his last message on November 14, 2004 on Psalm 51. He is survived by his family: wife, Aurelia; sons, Mark (Frances), Roy (Viola), Terry (Marilyn), Wendell (Rita); daughter Debbie (Brad) Kornelsen; son Dennis (Linda); 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also by three brother, three sisters, their families, many in-laws and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, grandson Josh and two sisters. Visitation will take place at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Klassen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3 at Riverton Gospel Chapel, Riverton with Rev. Erwin Kroeker officiating. Interment to follow at Menville E.M.C. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
