JAMES LAGIMODIERE October 10, 1930 - July 23, 2005 Suddenly, on Saturday, July 23, 2005 in his sleep at home, our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away at the age of 74 years old. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred (M.M.) in 1959 and Hester Lagimodiere (nee Arbuthnot) in 1987, his infant sister, Shirley May Lagimodiere, his brother, Donald Lagimodiere in the R.C.A.F. who went missing in action in September 1942, his sister Marguerite Betker in June 1990, and his brother William in February 2002. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 53 years, Irene (nee Vermette), daughter Shirley May and her husband, Dave, and grandson, James; brother Norm (Barb) of Winnipeg and sister Claudette of Winnipeg. James was born October 10, 1930, in Woodridge, MB. At an early age, James and his family moved to Lorette, MB where they farmed. There James, the tall, handsome baseball player met Irene, his sweetheart, and they were married on August 30, 1952. They were inseparable, and spent their 53 years of marriage treasuring their life together. Big Jim was employed for many years as an industrial painter and was famous for his meticulous work. James was a friend to all, and was well-loved by everyone. His advice was sought-after and he always had kind words for all. James enjoyed spending special times with his family. He prepared many delicious meals on his barbeque, summer and winter. James enjoyed gardening and his yard was always in immaculate condition. Always close-by, in all his activities, was his favourite little dog, Peaches . James always had a positive outlook on life, and this carried him through many medical procedures. To honour James' wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A private family graveside service will be held in Woodridge, MB at a later date. You will be deeply missed, Jimmy, Papa, Pepere. Nous ne t'oublierons jamais. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.desjardins-funeral.ca.
