ADA INGABORG SMITH Peacefully with her family by her side, Ada passed away August 15, 2005, at Tudor Personal Care Residence. Ada was predeceased by her husband Mel in 1991. Ada is survived by her sons, Bob (Kitty) and Larry (Jeanine); grandsons, Lee (Jaye) and Michael; as well as many nephews and nieces. Mum was born in Ingramport Nova Scotia shortly after her parents immigrated to Canada from Sweden. Ada and her family moved west to homestead in Birch River, MB, where Ada met and married Mel. They raised their family in the nearby town of Bowsman. They moved to East Selkirk in 1957, and later after retirement, to Selkirk where Ada was able to live in her apartment until recent failing health required she have more care. Ada and her family very much appreciated the kind and thoughtful care she received at Tudor House Personal Care Residence, with a special thank you to all the nurses and staff who made Ada's residence there so comfortable. The family would also like to thank Dr. Lidenschmidt, Dr. Demsas, Dr. Hussain and Dr. Ryckman, as well the nurses and aides at Selkirk General for their care and support. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18 at The Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk, with interment to follow at St. Clements Cemetery. Pastor Stan Richards will be officiating. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
