Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLYN ANN TEIXEIRA (nee NICHOLSON) March 9, 1957 - September 1, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family announces the loss of a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Carolyn went to be with her Lord and Saviour after a courageous five year battle with breast cancer. Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 25 years Ezequiel (Zeke), son Miguel and wife Annelie (nee Duester), daughters Katherine and fiance Rhys DeGrave and Jenna, parents Eric and Norma Nicholson, mother-in-law Etelvina Teixeira, sister Rosalie and Robert Fugitt, brothers Bruce and Jody Nicholson (nee Kiefling), Darrell and Lorna Nicholson (nee Kemesh), Kenton and Marta Nicholson (nee Matias), sister-in-law Ana and Nataniel Raposo, brothers-in-law Antero and Lucy Teixeira, Mario and Leonor Teixeira, and Manuel and Maria Ruth Teixeira, as well as many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was born in Winnipeg, the second daughter of five children. She graduated from Garden City Collegiate Institute in 1975 and completed her diploma in Laboratory Technology in 1977. Although her first career choice may have been to be a nurse, the career she chose allowed her to continue as a pianist and Sunday School Teacher in her church. Carolyn met Zeke, the love of her life in 1974, started dating in 1979 and married Sept. 6, 1980. Together they raised one son and two daughters to whom she was deeply devoted. Carolyn lived her life putting others first which was evident even in her last days. Viewing will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. with Devotion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at Bethel Community Church, 430 Lakewood Blvd. with a viewing an hour before service. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to friends and family who gave of themselves with food, prayers, and acts of kindness, the nurses of Palliative Care, Home Care, and primary care nurse Gwen for their kindness and care. Carolyn's parents and children wish to thank Zeke for caring for her selflessly during her illness. Donations may be made in Carolyn's memory to a charity of one's choice.
