TADEUSZ (TED) PIETRYKA January 10, 1927 - September 7, 2005 With deep sadness after a lengthy battle with cancer we announce the passing of our Dad at the age of 78. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Wladyslaw and Katarzyna. Dad is survived by his wife Elsa of 58 years and children, Mary, Josie, Alex (Barb), Anita (Dave), Heidi (David), Susan (Darrell), Richard (Ruby), Ken, Ted (Marjorie). Ted leaves 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ted and Elsa moved to Canada from Germany in 1960. He was employed with Monarch Industries for 19 years when he retired. Ted had a passion for breeding and racing pigeons with the Metro Winnipeg Pigeon Racing Association. The family would like to thank Dr. Swain and Dr. Lezak, the staff of Homecare (Janet) and the staff on E3 at Riverview Health Centre for their special care and compassion and also to Walter Knysh for his spiritual support. In keeping with dad's wishes a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ted may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
