MARY LOU HADDEN August 15, 1946 - September 7, 2005 Only the other day we held your hand, heard your voice and saw your face! Now we turn you over to our Lord's care. He quietly called you home on Wednesday, September 7, 2005. You will be remembered by your beloved husband (Hubba) Stan of almost 39 years; your children, Shelley Balewicz (Rick), Stanley Hadden, Spencer Hadden (Ramona), Staecie Hadden and fiance Joe Rudniski; granddaughter Bailey Hadden; your father Louis Kauk; sisters, Carol Stewart (Bob), Anita Barlow (David), Mona Turcotte and Penny Kau (Klaus); brother Kevin Kauk (Alison); sisters-in-law, Linda Kauk and Gail Kauk; brother-in-law Earl Hadden (Betty); sister-in-law Delores Burke (Pat); brothers-in-law, Norman Hadden, Jackie Hadden (Myrna) and Dougie Hadden (Patsy); sister-in-law Audrey Hadden and brother-in-law Raymond Hadden (Lorraine). Mary Lou was predeceased by her beloved mother Mary Kauk; mother-in-law Violet Hadden; father-in-law Wallace Hadden; brother Donald Kauk; brothers-in-law, Paul Turcotte, Laurent Lamoureux, Carman Hinds, Robert Hadden and recently by her brother Kerry Kauk and sister Dawn Kauk. Mary Lou grew up in Transcona, where at 17 years of age she met the love of her life, Stanley Hadden. They married October 29, 1966, resided in Transcona till May 1977 when they moved their family, Shelley, Stanley and Spencer to a home in Hazelridge. The family was complete with the birth of Staecie. Mary Lou's focus was her family and home. She loved to work in her yard, read books, and watching Everybody Loves Raymond with Stan. Days of Our Lives gave her an escape of reality. Mary Lou's vibrant personality was always evident at family gatherings. If there was work to be done or fun to be had, Mary Lou was number one. Who would be the one to start the dances, play with the children, lend a helping hand and support the many nieces and nephews not only with words but with hugs and kisses and big bags of candy! She was an inspiration to us all because of the giving spirit our Lord gifted her with. She displayed that spirit in many ways. She held family gatherings at their home on many occasions; Victoria Day fireworks, Boxing Day dinners and Come on over and Swim days. She showed her love of the Lord with her involvement in Walther League as a young adult, attending Ladies Aide with her Mom, helping out at V.B.S., taking on the secretarial role for many years with Lutheran Life, joining L.W.M.L. and was involved in other areas of Christian service. Mary Lou's energetic spirit lives on in her family. A special thanks to the nurses who first arrived to help Staecie with her Mom. Thanks to all the parks people at Rushing River, the staff who attended Mary Lou in Kenora, the medical staff at Health Sciences Center SICU (Jackie and Donna) and to Pastor Kruesel for his spiritual support. Bye from Pixie, Dakota, Eskimo, Zoe, Marshall and Patches. Devotional service will be held on Monday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Avenue. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Kruesel officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Kauk, Jack Hadden, Doug Hadden, Ray Hadden, Rick Balewicz and Ray Yestrau. Honorary pallbearers will be godsons, Jeff Dujlovic, Andrew Stewart, Brett Turcotte, Tyler Kauk and friend Garry Kalawarny. 2 Corinthians 1: 3 4, Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
