HAZLITT (SPARKY) SPARROW Hazlitt Sparky Sparrow was a good man who lived his 83 years on earth to the fullest. He was born in Nova Scotia in 1922 to Barry and Elizabeth Sparrow. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Miriam, daughter Frances, son Robert, brother Douglas Sparrow and sister Olive Todd. He is survived by his daughter Edna and children, Reggie and Tammy, his sister Ivy Watkins of Souris, sister Laura Petrucci of Dunnevill, ON and brother Eric Sparrow of Fort McMurray, AB. Also left to mourn are his wife's (Marjorie) children and grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces and nephews that made him so proud. Hazlitt was raised in Brandon, MB. As a young man he joined the navy in l942 and spent 22 months at sea during the Second World War. After his discharge he married Miriam Fraser. They lived in Brandon where he worked for the Manitoba Power Company and was given the nickname Sparky . Sparky and his wife Mim came to Flin Flon in 1948, where he worked for the electrical department at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting. Sparky was active in the Scouting program dedicating 10 years to the service of young boys. In l957, Sparky and Mim lost their daughter Frances at the tender age of 13. After this tragic death Sparky and Mim adopted two children, Edna and Robert. Sparky lost his wife Mim to Alzhiemers Disease in l992. Sparky found friendship and happiness again when he married Marjorie Davis in December of 1995. Together they spent many hours in the summer gardening, picking berries and taking short trips. They were very active in their church community and attended Bible studies regularly. Sparky spent his life following the word of God and using his life to the service of God. He believed that he had a spiritual calling to spread the word of God by selling religious literature. His family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor and his strong moral convictions. Although Sparky was taken from us tragically we know that his faith in God gives us all comfort that he is resting peacefully with the Lord. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, at 3:00 p.m. at St Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Flin Flon, MB. If friend so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or World Vision. Arrangements entrusted to: Dadson Funeral Home, Flin Flon, MB www.dadsonfuneralhome.com
