BEVERLY ANNE JAMES (nee BALL) August 6, 1937 - September 12, 2005 It is with deep sadness and loss that we announce the death of our loving and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, Bev James. After struggling with breast cancer for over 10 years, she has earned her rest; her strength has amazed us all. Born in Battleford, SK to Aubrey and Anne Ball, Bev was raised primarily in Prince Albert. She was educated at PACI and the University of Saskatchewan and began teaching in Regina, where she first met John. Together, Bev and John shared many interests, travels, and adventures, and recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. John has lost his best friend, his buddy, but has many precious memories of a life well lived together. Their children, Andrea and David, grew up with a wonderful mother who was fun, respectful and supportive, and who became a trusted friend as well as a treasured Mom. She was a very intelligent woman with a spectacular memory, a facility for language, and an enjoyment of cryptic crosswords. Bev was a longtime badminton and tennis player and many close, meaningful friendships were formed through these sports. She loved a good laugh, good books, good food and most importantly, her family. Bev cared lovingly for her mother, and kept in touch with a great number of relatives. Present at the birth of both granddaughters, Zoe and Maya, she has had a special bond with her girls and they will miss her terribly. Bev was predeceased by her father Aubrey and her brother Glenn. Left to grieve are Bev's mother Anne Ball; her loving husband John; her children and their partners, Andrea and Murray, and David and Karen; her adored grandchildren Zoe and Maya; her niece and nephews, Kelly, Lori, and Shawn and their families, and sisters-in-law, Audrey and Eleanor; her Scottish family; sister-in-law Anne, niece Joanne, nephew Graeme, and their families; as well as Bev's many cousins and friends across the country. Bev, Mom, Grandma; we are bereft and our loss is immeasurable. You will be with us always. We love you. We would like to thank the Oncology staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview, and the Palliative Care team. If desired, donations may be made in Bev's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. In accordance with Bev's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16, at 3:00 p.m., with reception to follow, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715

My thoughts are with my brother and the family. What a sad loss Bev's passing is but she leaves behind so many happy memories of times spent with her and her family.
