Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE EVANS (nee GANGE) On September 6, 2005, surrounded by her beloved family, Yvonne Marie Evans was called to our Lord. She will be greatly missed by Jack, her husband of 55 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Dallas and Murray Ballance, and Michele and Brian Sharkey; and grandchildren, Desmond and husband Christopher Bileski, Kimberly and Jared Ballance, and Rowan, Skye, Bryn, Bria, Rhys and Liam Sharkey. Also by her brothers, Tony and wife Shirlee Gange, Doug Gange and friend Jean, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Claire Gange, sister-in-law Joyce Gange and nephew Todd Gange. Yvonne was born in Winnipeg, MB on August 5, 1925. Following graduation from Kelvin High School, she was employed by the Bank of Montreal (Portage and Main), and in the accounting departments of Marshall Wells and the J. I. Case Company. On May 13, 1950 she married Jack Evans. Following the birth of their daughters, Yvonne turned to full time motherhood, a role that suited her to perfection. Her focus was her family and home, and she created a wonderful and loving home environment wherever they lived, be it Brandon, Ottawa or Winnipeg. She especially loved going to their cottage near Kenora, ON with her family where she spent many happy hours gardening and reading. Yvonne was an inspiration to all who met her through her compassion, goodness and gentleness. She was instrumental in the raising of her nine grandchildren, all of whom adored her and teased her by calling her the tough grandma . She was the heart of our family and she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Anaheim Memorial Medical Center in Anaheim, California for their wonderful care and compassion during this time. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church (Stafford at Corydon) on Friday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. A prayer vigil will be conducted on Thursday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church. I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave, when my life is done.
