NORA ZENTENO (MEJIA) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nora Zenteno Carvallo on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. Our Mom was born on March 26, 1921 in Chile, South America. She married Salvador Mejia, our father in 1939 and had six children. She was predeceased by her husband in 1978 and shortly after she immigrated to Canada and made Winnipeg her new home. Our Mom's wishes were to rest next to our father Salvador. We will fulfill her wishes by bringing our father's remains to Winnipeg, where they will share their final resting place in peace together. Mom will be missed and remembered forever by her family and friends in Chile and Canada and specially by her children, Carmen and husband Dragin Steinbach, Sergio Mejia and wife Sandra, Rodolfo Mejia and wife Eliana, Viviana Geauvreau and husband Rick, Sandra Mejia and husband Maurico Valenzuela and Nory Mejia and husband Patricio Vasquez, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was a very special person that touched in many ways the lives of her family and friends. Mom loved animals without distinction, specially cats and dogs, being Pelusa her last pet, a beautiful and loyal Shihtzu dog, who was her companion for the last 14 years. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, especially the doctors and nurses of the Intensive Care Units. Their dedication and professionalism will be forever appreciated. Thank you. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Timothy Parish Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. in River Park South, St. Vital. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
